The Purna Kumbh Mela, also known as “full Kumbha,” takes place every 12 years at a specific location and is referred to as the Kumbh Mela. Every six years, the Ardh Kumbh Mela (“half Kumbh”) takes place between the two Purna Kumbha Melas in Allahabad and Haridwar.
