What Accommodations Are Available for Pilgrims?
- Hotels and Guesthouses: During the Kumbh Mela, a range of hotels and guesthouses are available in and around the host city. These accommodations vary from budget to luxury, catering to different preferences and financial capabilities. But there is one thing to keep in mind. These hotels and guest houses are outside the mela area. During the shahi snan dates, all the modes of transport are blocked by the government to manage the huge flow of crowd. Due to this reason, reaching the mela area from even a nearby hotel or guesthouse is a huge hassle. You will walk kilometers of distance just to reach the mela area. Contact us for more information.
- Ashrams: Many religious organizations and ashrams open their doors to pilgrims, offering simple shared lodging facilities. Staying at an ashram can provide a more immersive spiritual experience, as they often include communal meals and spiritual activities. Although very enlightening experience, the way of living is very simple and without any luxury and amenities.
- Tented Camps: Temporary tented accommodations are set up specifically for the Kumbh Mela. These camps range from basic tents with shared facilities to more luxurious setups with private amenities. They are often located close to the main event areas, providing convenient access to festival activities. We have setup our own government approved Camps in the Mela area itself. Visit here to view our camps and offerings.
- Dormitories: For those seeking economical options, dormitory-style accommodations are available. These are usually large halls with basic bedding facilities, shared among many pilgrims. Again, keep in mind you should only stay nearest to the sangam or mela area.
